Dear fellow readers of my blog,
I've been slacking off for quite some time and there is some logic behind this , I've had too many things in life to deal with on my plate , appointments, college registration, getting my degree in PC Support ETC.
I'm never going to delete this blog because I put so much work into it. I just need to catch up on important things that life is calling me to do before I can go back to blogging normally. I may pop up now and then and post something here or there, but please do not think that this blog is gone for good.
I'm only trying to make something more good out of my life and I was not able to in the past and an opportunity popped up that has been super successful for the time being.

What happened to Daily Software Giveaway again?
Well............. I keep say I try to update the blog regularly. But in all honestly I have been looking at the Daily Software Giveaway site and noticed that their last update was April 19th and now its April 29th and they had nothing new between then. I also want to point out that in one email they told me they went out of business and came back. While their website redesign is a huge improvement from their previous version of the site, they are once again lacking daily updates.
Unfortunately as much as I would like to have faith in any Giveaway site , this one makes me wonder what the future is for it. I can offer them some help to possibly get them more oversight / vendors who may want to co-operate with them but that is about it.
DSG..... You can feel free to email us to let Little Bears World Of Freebies know what is going on. If a lack of staff is all that you have but you have software vendors that want to participate, heck I would be willing to run your site.

Curious about FREE / Paid Alternatives ? Never head of the name of the software company?
A lot of you I know are looking for free software or cheap paid alternatives to the stuff you see in the big box stores. While a lot of it is out there it makes you wonder if you are going to compromise in quality if you use such an item.
The thing to be sure about when it comes to a product is to read reviews and the product synopsis on every free / paid alternative offering. Look for product comparasents on the web page. Look at the features of the alternative. If they say its just as good as the alternative, look for reviews online, download a demo of the paid big box program and then download the alternative. Compare the features. Check to see how stable each one is.
Just because something is free does not mean your freebie meter says free of worries. A good portion of FREE products are often bundled with ToolBars, Third Party offerings, and other annoyances that may have an changing experience on the way you use your Web Browser.
Ratings do say a lot about the product, but sometimes a product installation by a user can go bad and from that experience can cause the user to rate a product they never tested bad because of their initial install experience. Little Bears World Of Freebies reminds everyone who utilize FREEBIES to the paid offerings out there, or cheap alternatives to the big box names to always do some research before you install. If you are unsure of how to install something but also are highly interested in a piece of software that you might find useful, its always great to enlist the help of a tech savvy person and have them install it for you.
In short to protect yourself from potential browser HiJacks and Toolbar offerings:
Check to see if the installer has " Advanced Options ". Never go with the "Default / Quick " Install.
Always read the EULA to see what they can or can't do with your information.
Be aware of Pop Up Windows posing as potential warnings - Often websites employ advertising to help pay for web pages and a fake Window appears saying your computer has a problem with it to click YES to install something and fix it. THIS IS ALWAYS FALSE. The program is nagware / scam ware most of the time.
Finally, if its too good to be true, it probably is false. But the Internet is always your best friend for both honest and up front opinions about the alternative software scene.

Jukebox Software Review : Media Monkey.
It's not often I take music jukeboxes / organizers and put them to the test it seems the last one I did was Zortam MP3 ID Editor. Or whatever it was called. Well it really was not a jukebox it was more of an organizer (thanks for the information from one of my readers.
Media Monkey Standard is a Jukebox that allows you to play a various amount of music formats and adjust them to you liking. You have the ability to have different category views of your music, tag your music from the web and more.
Well okay I'm terrible explaining features so you can have a look at them here:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/information/free/
There was a gripe I had upon using the program for the first time. I got several UAC notices pertaining to permissions elevation. It was not a big deal at first but it was several of them and it drove me batty. Once it got its proper permissions, then , it stopped doing that.
No toolbars in this installer at least in my testing experience. Thats a good thing I like a clean install without having to install crapware. (Toolbars)
Skinnable interface too with downloadable skins.
Abilities to rip music although if you are going to work with proprietary formats such as MP3 etc you need to purchase a license for these - they only work for 30 days.
Has additional features for the power user, some available only in the GOLD edition.
Seems this company is very focused in making new I Devices compatible with this program, something other programs have a hard time touching upon.
Overall this program is fast and free and has none of those loading annoyances that is tied to the NET Framework (compared to other apps of this genre)
You can download the program from here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/download

BuildASign.com Business Card and Magnetic Sign Review
Hey everyone! Since Little Bears World Of Freebies has teamed up with Build A Sign we decided to give some more of their products a test.
First up is their business card products. I have recently launched a new computer gig called Little Bears Computer Repair and I wanted to get a lot of business cards so I did not run out. I ordered 1000 business cards, and the result of the card is here:
So what do you think? I think it came out wonderful! They were fast to ship too and I never thought I would receive them in the time they arrived! Their custom business card design program is user friendly and customer support is always readily available if I have any questions.
The next product we are reviewing is their Magnetic Signs. My friend recently also launched a imports gig called Intermodal Operations and needed some signs for his car. We decided to use his company logo for the signs. While the initial signs were completed successfully , I ran into an image quality problem. The logo I submitted was not really that high in resolution and the output result would be very blurry. They contacted me via email to correct this problem and I produced a much higher resolution of the image. Once the flaw was fixed, they contacted me within 2 days to tell me the file was very acceptable and was a whole lot better then what I submitted previously. Here is how his signs look : (Thats me in the picture holding the sign, the car is my friends car)
He seems to be happy with the signs and I am satisfied with them too.
All in all this was a hassle free project and they are very high in quality. When you need some signs done or some business cards, Build A Sign has your back covered. Make sure you subscribe to their email news letter as you can get discounts now and then.
You can get to their sites by looking at the sidebar on my page and clicking the Build A Sign image.

Free Fairy Arkanoid Game from Game Giveaway Of The Day! (Valid 4/13)
Gain the bonuses by destroying bricks in this amazing Arcade action game. Operate correctly your paddle and make the ball rebound off it. But be careful and quick enough because you’ll lose bonuses if the ball falls on the ground. For advancing to the next level you must do away with all bricks. Some of the bricks may bring you additional bonuses.
LITTLE BEARS WORLD OF FREEBIES THOUGHTS
The game does some provide some fun hours of Gameplay through the tried and true style of similar games such as Super Breakout and Arkanoid. When I installed the game, it went to the C:\Games directory.
I double clicked the game exe file and it started. Works fine on Windows 8. The paddle in game was slightly unresponsive (slow to move with mouse movement) but all in all this game is not that bad.
You can get todays game from here: http://game.giveawayoftheday.com/fairy-arkanoid-2013/
